Anna was the second wife of Vytautas the Great.
    The cathedral was originally initially
intended for Catholic Germans. It was
destoyed by a fire in 1419. The present
brick church was constructed in 1495 - 1500.
It was built using 33 different kinds of clay
    bricks and painted in red.
The legend says when Emperor Napoleon was in
Lithuania he liked the cathedral so much that
wanted to carry the church to Paris `in the palm
    of his hand`.
