Who was Bab? He was a merchant, original named Siyyid 'Ali-Muhammad. In 1844 he announced that he was the bearer of a long-promised Divine Revelation destined to transform the spiritual life of the human race.
In Arabic, bab means gate, i.e he represented the portal through which the universally anticipated Revelation of God to all humanity would soon appear
This is one of the most important Bahai symbols: the nine pointed star, symbolizing spiritual completion because nine is the highest single-digit number.
Another 9-pointer star
The base also has 9 sides
